This painting was completed for a third-year project during my degree. The project was based around the game of snooker, and I was trying to create a narrative between three figures within the environment of a snooker hall. The idea is that the two players are essentially contesting a frame of snooker, both competing for the mysterious blonde seen beyond the table.
Technically the painting was quite complex, with tricky lighting and the three figures to work with. I convinced a friend of mine to dress up in waistcoat and bow tie and pose for both of the snooker players. A college friend posed for the female figure. Digital photography was used throughout, with the various parts being brought together in the finished work.
